PROJECT DETAILS & SYSTEM

The University Union Expansion at California State University, Sacramento added 70,000 square feet across three stories to the campus’s central gathering place. The project combines new social and study areas with renovations to the existing building, supporting a university union that welcomes more than 20,000 visitors each day.

Designed by Dreyfuss + Blackford Architecture, the LEED Gold-certified expansion features a new main entry, a double-height pavilion, lounges, conference suites and recreation spaces. Exterior glazing and interior glass partitions bring transparency to spaces for gathering, studying and campus life. Project credit: McCarthy Construction.
